About

Coming from a private practice, I soon realised it'll take me about 320 years to get through Berlin's population's nervous systems one by one with the incredibly rewarding and effective work I'm doing. Combining applied interpersonal neuroscience, emotion regulation, epigenetics, attachment theory, and more than decade of experience in corporate, I created TWA - Triggers With Attitude - to spread applicable knowledge about something everyone of us experiences every waking second (consciousness, that is). Who am I talking to?

Julia Rathjen. After more than a decade in corporate communication strategies from international marketing agencies to digital/programmatic advertising, PR and consulting, I was ready to change lanes. I got to study our biological imperatives, understand transgenerational epigenetic transmission and experience first hand the powerful new tools of integrative psychology that catalysed me to a new level of health myself. Trained and certified in applied neuroscience (master practitioner), interpersonal neurobiology, epigenetics, emotion regulation (emTrace) and business coaching (IHK). I've always been passionate about mental health awareness and the destigmatisation of psychological illness and offer pro bono cases and consulting accordingly. I hold the state license as a non-medical practitioner for psychotherapy, with my work at the practice focusing on dysfunctional interpersonal experiences and trauma-informed therapy for couples and individuals based in interpersonal neuroscience.

My views,
my ideals

Reliably honest and open. You're getting time and space to open up, tell me your story, explain your pain points and correct possible assumptions until I am fully emerged in your reality. No judgement, no pre-recorded set of solutions, just you and me as a curious empty canvas.

Empathetic. Why bring attachment theory to the business world? Isn't that hard to sell? Hell yeah, it is. But it's necessary nevertheless because cutting edge neuroscience proves me right. I'm a neural architect for empathy, social connection, understanding and growth in life domains such as communication, physical and mental health, well-being, social and interpersonal connections, decisions, authenticity, self-image and personality. The science behind being. You can learn that too.

Systemic and functional. Understanding and differentiating correlation, cohesion and linkage of themes and patterns in behaviour, cognition, and emotion. Allowing for resolution of blockages and conflicts according to our biological heritage as the highly developed mammals that we are. For an upward spiral on a personal and organisational level. 

Deeply caring and non-judgemental. My primary directive. A humanistic, holistic, interconnected view of team dynamics and work-life-related stressors gives way to a new level of energy, creativity, effectiveness and stress reduction. With whatever bump in the road we encounter, there will be room to grow, time to reflect, and moments of rupture and repair. Your pace, your tasks, your rules. And me fully trusting the process.

How does it work?

Single Settings

For high potentials, creatives, C-level executives, young professionals, founders, managers, possibly any stressed person in an organisation. 

I'm working in the field of burnout prevention, public and corporate health with an integrative, flexible and interdisciplinary approach starting with an in-depth analysis of personal needs and pain points of the individuals involved.

This could be 

  • A creative blockage: getting your mind going again
  • A personal responsibility: some decisions are hard
  • A recurring pattern: overworked / undersupported -> adverse coping mechanisms and thought networks

The same as above applies but we're including the relational space of you and someone you want to get in touch with on a more effective and trusting level. My training in attachment biology allows for an empathic, inviting and open space with guaranteed fairness even in sensitive contexts.
